FVTA Executive Board Duties
Nominations for any FVTA position are open to certified members. Candidates for office must be credentialed technicians, certified by the FVTA, who are active members of FVTA in good standing for a minimum of one year prior to their nomination.

Past-President:
• The past-president shall serve as an advisor to the president and association
• The past-president shall preside as chairperson of the executive board
• The past-president shall chair the professional development committee
President:
• The president shall represent the association in all matters
• The president must preside at all meetings of the association
• The president shall establish and appoint members to committees as deemed
necessary
• The president shall, at the end of the term, automatically succeed to the
office of past-president
without the formality of election
President-Elect:
• The president-elect shall perform the duties of the president during their
absence or disability
• The president-elect shall perform duties assigned to her/him by the president
• The president-elect shall, at the end of the term, automatically succeed to
the office of president without the formality of election
• The president-elect shall sit on the finance committee
Recording Secretary:
• The recording secretary shall record and report the minutes of all association
meetings (including on-line meetings, association business managed via
email, and regional meetings)
• The recording secretary shall act in the absence of the president-elect
• The term of office shall be two years unless otherwise deemed necessary
• Upon end of term, seat shall be filled on an alternative year from the
corresponding secretary
Corresponding Secretary:
• The corresponding secretary shall chair the membership committee
• The corresponding secretary shall maintain the association’s membership
roster
• The term of office shall be two years unless otherwise deemed necessary
• Upon end of term, seat shall be filled on an alternative year from the
recording secretary
